Unworn and Absolutely gorgeous 1950s Peignoir House Coat, Boudoir Robe, or Hostess Gown
Made in London in 1952 by Lengo from the most beautiful floral stiffened nylon
The neckline has a ruffle edge shawl collar, the sleeves are elaborately designed with bracelet styling and a ruffled 3” deep cuff. The pockets are quite deep with ruffle styling
The shoulders are square, with dainty pads and hand sewn pin tuck detailing at the shoulders which is pristine.
The bodice is absolutely divine with the front being darted and slightly fitted and the back being blouson.
The gown has a stiffened nylon broad belt and is zipped. The zip is pristine and free moving.
The fabric is stunningly beautiful with an iridescence and rose design over which has been hand painted in cream and white
The skirt of the gown slips daintily over the hips, then is cut generously, on the bias, voluptuous and very flowing, the tie belt draws it all together.
Previously part of a private collection belonging to a film starlet from the 1940s Its unworn and in its original 1950s condition
