Antique 1800 Black Silk Lappet Veil Mantilla or Stole, which has been intricately Hand Made from Chantilly lace with Needle-run over, in black silk thread, originating from the Caen Provence of France.
The fabric retains its original shimmer which is truly mesmerising as the wearer moves. All the edges are scalloped, as was the style with this type of lace.
This is a beautiful, feminine lace item and has hardly any weight to it, and it’s gossamer fine
It's quite rare to find one in this exceptional antique condition and this only adds to its beauty.
This stunningly beautiful and precious lady shows signs in its makeup of both French, Portuguese and Spanish influences, and has remained unused since it was made.
