Fabulous 1950s London Town Couture Black Silk Brocade Cocktail Belted Dress and Bolero
The dress is trimmed with pearl droplets and rosettes of cream silk ribbons with the addition of exquisite rose embroidery
The original finish is still present as the garment has remained unworn since its purchase in June 1956.
The bodice is fitted into the waist, and has 8 bones to offer the wearer support and shaping. Subtle gathering of box pleats fall over the hips.
The panelled skirt is extremely full, a little more than a full circle and has hip pockets hidden within the folds of the dress.
The gown is complimented further with the addition of beautiful and embellished bolero
Previously part of a private fashion collection the set is in the most gorgeous wearable condition. It should be noted that the garment bodice is lined in black linen, which is in beautiful condition
The underskirt is stiffened linen, which has some age marks.
This is a beautiful garment. Perfect for the cocktail hour, and those special festivals or retro music nights. The measurements given are actual, from seam to seam and are given as a guide.
