Original Vintage 1950s ‘California Cottons’ Dress with matching one button bolero jacket which has been created from the most gorgeous crisp white and red cotton
It’s an absolute treat, rare and exceptionally wearable today. It’s gorgeous, the fabric has a fabulous nostalgic rustle as the lady moves.
Lovely styling to the neckline, gently fitted bodice leads into a belted waist over an exceptionally full and generous cskirt, with slip pockets at the hip.
Overall it’s fresh and clean looking.
It was created in 1957 and placed into a Private Collection in 1960 belonging to a vogue fashion designer. Its exquisitely designed, with the utmost style to compliment the wearer. The garments have been freshly dry cleaned and are now ready to wear.
Please note; There are three marks to the fabric, not really noticeable, but they are there. Although it’s been dry cleaned the marks have faded somewhat. They may come out with a soak and hand laundering- look like a water based emulsion.
I am listing this as an advised uk 19/12 although the notes connected to the dress state that it is a size 16 The measurements given were taken when the garment was laid flat and relaxed.
