Huge Beautiful Antique Regency 1840s Shawl. The item has been kept in a private heirloom collection, and has been carefully stored in a linen chest since the late 1890s. The corners are square, expertly hand sewn and rolled on two edges, with a hand knotted fringe, which is free of tangles.
Measurements are as follows;
Overall measurements; 62 inches x 62 inches
The fringe is; 4.5 inches
Cream background with Red Black and gold stripes
This fabulous shawl predates the 1850s and was originally purchased in about 1840 and originates from Kashmir in India
These stunning shawls look so beautiful, draped around the shoulders. The fabric has two darns and there is two areas of thinning-please see the listing.
