Victorian 1856 Hand Sewn Yorkshire Linen Split or open crotch Bloomers
There is a fabulous pin tucked deep border to the bottom edged with hand made Broidery Anglaise. The hem of the lace is scalloped and ornately embroidered. To the front are dainty pleats, a button waist to the rear.
These bloomers are completely split, from front to back.
There is at the rear, the original button.
The item is exquisitely made, with all seams etc being hand sewn. The linen was woven in North Yorkshire.
This is a beautiful example of needlecraft. All measurements were taken seam to seam when the garment was laid flat and have been provided as a guidance for you to compare against an item of ones own.

There are a few flaws in the fabric, a result of the hand weaving but no age marks. The fabric is without shattering.
The fabric has been shown in natural light for clarity and is completely untouched digitally. It has received a full laundering, is slightly starched and is ready to wear.
