Stunning 1800s Victorian ladies modesty dress or blouse Insert, with Silk bobbin lace overlay around the neckline and includes the original concertina wires. One either side of the neck cuff and one at the back.
These are very very firm and could have caused genuine discomfort for the wearer.
Made from champagne silk net lace it’s been completely all hand sewn. The Insert fastens on the back of the neck with three metal hook and eyes.
The measurements are;
The neck cuff; 3” Deep x 14” Length
The Insert Depth - from shoulder seam to hem; 9.5”
From shoulder to hem; 12.5”
Underarm to underarm; 36.5”
Please note that the original elastic is still in place, but has perished, but not rotted.
The lace has been shown in natural light for clarity and is completely untouched digitally.
