Stunning Original Vintage Chinese Pure Silk Pyjamas, purchased in Hong Kong in 1921.
The lingerie is cut on the stylish Art Deco 'Baggy loose' fit, the pants are typically cut on the palazzo style, fitted at the waist and over the hips before the fabric falls away generously.
The sleeves are cuffed with appliqué work, the silk embroidery, throughout is undamaged, all the seams, which are hand sewn, are firm, as is the silk. The slightly padded appliqué is stunning, as is the hand embroidery. This theme is carried through to the pants, which have been overlaid at the hem with a scalloped matt silk with appliqué work and embroidery, this design is also to the front of the jacket.

This wonderful set was part of a private fashion collection, covering over 150 years, stored following their purchase. The collection was handed down through the ladies of the family and each added their own styles, to give a fab insight into how delicious fashions can be throughout the ages.
The pyjamas have been shown in natural light for clarity and are completely untouched digitally.
