Victorian 1852 Metis Linen Nightdress or Boudoir Gown. Completely all hand made from the homespun fabric to the Broderie Anglaise lace. The seams are all hand sewn as are the pin tucked details to the back of the upper Bodice. The dainty open-work jours have been finished in silk.
It's absolutely gorgeous, freshly laundered and lightly starched, ice white and crisp. The fabric is clear of heavy foxing, and the overall beauty of the garment is fabulous. It was found in a linen trunk of other night attire.
