Antique 1880s very Rare Black Silk Veil Mantilla or Stole, which has been intricately Hand Made from Chantilly lace with Needlerun over, in black silk thread, from the Caen Provence of France.
The fabric retains its original shimmer which is truly mesmerising as the wearer moves. All the edges are scalloped, as was the style with this type of lace.
This is a beautiful, feminine lace item and has hardly any weight to it.
It's quite rare to find one in this exceptional antique condition and this only adds to its beauty.
This stunningly beautiful and precious lady originates from Northern France and was made by my relatives from Southern Spain, the pattern shows signs of both French, Portuguese and Spanish influences.

Such a wonderful fabric should be seen and shown off, which is why I have decided to sell this lace, to lighten my own Heirloom collection.
It would be the perfect vintage accessory, or an indulgent treat for an avid collector. It would make the most fabulous evening Stole, no one will have another, it's unique and a whole world away from antique lace wraps as it's in unmarked condition without damage.
The lace has been shown in natural light for clarity and is completely untouched digitally.
