1940s Dress Cocktail Gown Huge Circle Skirt Cross Over Bodice Watered Silk Swing Ballgown
Vintage 1940s Silver Watered Silk Taffeta Cocktail Dress with rouched crossover detailing to the bodice and a Bardo dropped shoulder neckline.
Exquisitely cut, the dress has a dropped waist which falls nicely over the hips, to give a Luxurious Fluidity to the fabric. The skirt of the dress is simply glorious, with a huge amount of fabric to give an exquisite swing, as the lady moves.
It was previously part of a fashion designers Private collection, and was the proof garment for a Vogue pattern. The seams are mostly hand sewn and finished,
All measurements were taken seam to seam when the garment was laid flat and have been provided as a guidance for you to compare against an item of ones own.

The garment is without tags, but the finish has been done, very expertly, by hand and the fabric appears to be table cut.
