Stunning Victorian 1850s Black Silk Lace Over Skirt, sheer and luxuriant, with a long fishtail bustle back, and with diagonal panels of black satin ruffled ribbon to the hem and also at knee height.
The lace is completely all hand made and originated from Caen in France.
The waist is on a woven linen/hemp band, and this is still very firm. The skirt fastens with one original hook. The opening is free of press studs etc allowing an extension to be placed onto the waistband for extra inches, as there are copious amounts of lace to the skirt that it would take an alteration without ruining the style.
This skirt would make a stunning addition to any lace or antique fashion collection, it has been professionally cleaned and is ready to wear.
The measurements given have been taken seam to seam when the garment was laid flat and relaxed. Please compare the sizes given for an exact fit.

This item was purchased in August to be used in a film, but remained uncalled for.
The item has been shown in natural light for clarity and is completely untouched digitally.
