Rare Vintage 1940s "Acme" Cote D' Azure evening cocktail skirt, created from the most luxurious Woven heavy linen. A wonderful soft warm Sienna has been used as a background to a bold black abstract design.
The skirt has a very generous amount of fabric, styled with double inverted pleats to give fluidity as the lady moves, as such the wearer may wish to wear it loose or with a net half petticoat. The skirt has beeen shown with a Tirol Jacket, as was the fashion around 1948.
Once belonging to a Starlet of the 30s and 40s it remained unworn, following the shooting of a French film, thereafter taken into the ownership of a Private fashion collection in 1959, it has been stored in a temperature controlled store since this date.
All measurements were taken seam to seam when the garment was laid flat.
