Stunning 1940s French Designer Sample Black Silk Evening dress with black satin straps and trim to the waist inserts.
To the inside of the bodice is a fine linen lining with a free waist band which fastens at the back, this gives added shape to the garment. The back zip is completely covered with the folds of silk organza. This theme is carried through the bodice, to the front. The skirt of the dress is flat to the front, to the back there is a 4" inverted kick pleat. The dress is completely unworn and was a designer sample. After it was created in 1949, it was placed into a private fashion collection.
