Stunning 1940s Ball Gown or Evening Cocktail Dress created from Black Watered Silk. The gown is hand made and has remained stored after being worn once in 1949.
Made by ‘Baker Sportswear W1’
It is eloquently styled with the hems longer at the sides. This was to create a ‘crinoline’ look after the period films at the time
The bodice is boned
(7 bones in total) with a slight stiffening to the lining should the lady prefer not to wear undergarments.
The garment is vintage, and it does need a little work to the bodice and hem. I have given measurements taken when the dress was laid flat. These are given as a guide.

The bodice of the dress fits into the waist then flows over the hips to give a stunning full circle skirt made up of six panels.
The neck is cut sweetheart style, and the sleeves are 1/3 length and gathered along the top..
The shoulders are styled to be worn cold, Bardot or dropped.
This is the most gorgeous dress, perfect for any vintage themed ball.
